Origin Story

St. Jude is honored as one of the Apostles and as a powerful helper in desperate situations. Catholics have long turned to him when a case feels lost, when a need is urgent, or when hope needs to be steadied again.

Instructions

Traditionally prayed from October 19 through October 27 in preparation for the feast of St. Jude on October 28.

The devotion asks the petitioner to make St. Jude's name known after the novena is finished, traditionally by public thanks.

Pray the same St. Jude prayer each day and bring your urgent petition before him with confidence and humility.

It is especially fitting when a situation feels impossible, delayed, or beyond ordinary help.

Add your own private intention. The app will carry it gently through the novena without changing the prayer text itself.

Day 1: Reaching Out in Need

Bring your present and urgent petition before St. Jude with honesty and trust.

Daily Prayer

To Saint Jude, Holy Saint Jude, Apostle and Martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke thy special patronage in time of need. To thee I have recourse from the depths of my heart and humbly beg to whom God has given such great power to come to my assistance. Help me in my present and urgent petition, in return I promise to make thy name known and cause thee to be invoked. Saint Jude pray for us and all who invoke thy aid. Amen. Recite an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be three times. Keep your promise to St. Jude and make his name known.
