Origin Story
St. Thérèse of Lisieux is known as the Little Flower and the Doctor of Merciful Love. She taught that holiness can be lived in simple acts of trust, love, and hidden fidelity, and Catholics still turn to her for rose-like signs of intercession and encouragement in small things done well.
Instructions
Some Catholics prepare for her feast by praying this novena from September 24 through October 2, the eve of her feast on October 3 in the traditional calendar.
The Fisheaters page emphasizes her little way, spiritual childhood, missionary zeal, and the familiar sign of roses after prayer.
Pray the same St. Thérèse prayer each day and bring your little acts, hidden struggles, and missionary intentions before her.
It is especially fitting for those who need confidence, simplicity, a gentler heart, or help loving God in ordinary life.

Day 1: The Little Way
Ask for a childlike trust that prefers love to self-importance.
Daily Prayer
O dear St. Thérèse, little flower of Jesus, who taught the world the way of trust and spiritual childhood, obtain for me a simple heart that is content to be little before God. Teach me to love Jesus with a childlike confidence, to seek holiness in hidden things, and to offer every joy and sorrow for the salvation of souls. Help me to believe that God sees the smallest acts done with love, and obtain for me the grace to walk faithfully in the little way until I am joined to Him forever. Amen.
